The 5 Levels of Professional Bartending

The 5 Levels of Professional Bartending is a comprehensive introduction to working a modern busy bar.

Designed bartender training expert, Jason Jelicich, the program is split across the 5 core levels that comprise a professional bartender, namely:

Level 1: Communication - This is the most primary and essential skill for any hospitality person. This section deals with greeting, conversation starters as well as suggestive selling techniques

Level 2: Knowledge - A professional bartender has to have a sound knowledge of the bar, it’s equipment and of course the products they sell. This section provides a practical introduction to the most essential knowledge required to work and maintain a busy bar.

Level 3: Technique – This level is about HOW to do things e.g. how to pour beer, wine & spirits. Detailed videos walk the student through the simple – but often neglected – process of pouring and working like a professional.

Level 4: Efficiency – This level starts to combine the previous 3 levels (communication, knowledge & skills), as this is what is required of the professional bartender i.e. they have to do everything quickly and together! Multiple drink mixing and drink priortisation is covered in this section.

Level 5: Working Flair This is the fun part! Students learn a variety of smooth yet practical showmanship moves – just to put the icing on the cake! It’s their reward for getting through the program…
